About cookies

Cookies are information packets sent by web servers to web browsers, where they may be stored on your browser or the hard drive of your computer if you agree. The information is then sent back to the web server each time your web browser requests a page from the server. This enables a web server to identify and track web browsers. There are two main kinds of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are destroyed when you close your browser, whereas persistent cookies remain stored on your computer until they are manually destroyed or until they reach their expiry date.

Cookies on this site

This site uses a session cookie containing a randomly generated ID string to identify you while you are logged in. No personal data is stored in the session cookie and the cookie is destroyed as soon as you log out from the website or shut down your browser. The session cookie is only used as strictly necessary for the operation of the website to enable you to log into secure areas of the website and ensure you remain logged in while moving between pages on the website. No persistent cookies are left on your computer after the session has ended.

Refusing cookies

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies. Internet Explorer allows you to refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector. Firefox allows you to refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Options” and “Privacy”. Google Chrome allows you to refuse all cookies by clicking "Settings", "Show Advanced Settings", "Privacy" and "Content Settings" and "Block Sites from Setting any Data". Blocking cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of this website.
